I have also been making the Big Fitz a subject of study, for my adult life. There is a museum on the lakes with a section deticated to the Big Fitz. They are on line also.
With all that is out there on the Fitz, no one has come up with a concrete solution.
To me, (a Great Lakes Sailor) the only possible solution is the belief she met with the Three Sisters. I also firmly believe that cargo placement played a big part in the incident.
