: I am looking for the G.P.S. coordinates for a shipwreck near Kelly's Island Shoal. Supposedly the wreck lies in about 20 ft of water. Rumor has it that on calm and clear days the ships stacks are visible to about 5-6 ft of the surface.

The commonly known shipwreck on KI Shoals is the Str St. Louis which struck the shoal on November 7, 1852. Remains of this vessel were located by local scuba divers in September, 1964. As late as 1995 only the boiler and a small portion of the keel remained.

From the shallowest point of the reef go south to the twenty foot depth and on a good day you may see the boiler from the surface.
