: I am doing a report on the LAdy Elgin Shipwreck in Humanities, would you be able to give me some information on this shipwreck? Thank you so much! From, Caroline
Dear Caroline: It's wonderful that you have taken an interest in the Lady Elgin story. I hope that you will find my series of articles dated 8/11/99 to 11/11/99 on this Forum webpage to be of worthwhile assistance to you for your research project. My articles include information on Jack Wilson, the brave-hearted Captain of the unfortunate steamship, who saved about 100 surviving passengers, and Edward Spenser, a college student who rescued 17 survivors. I hope that you will find my articles very interesting, inspiring and relevant. I think the Lady Elgin story should be remembered and the heroic efforts of the two young heroes of the disaster should not be forgotten.
Sincerely,
Mary Saleh
