I've just completed an update to the NDA Bill 13 website. Included are Mr.
Barrett's most current proposed amendments as well as summaries and Hansard
(official transcript) of the Oct. 4 & 11 meetings of the Standing Committee
for General Government. The site can be found at
http://www.vaxxine.com/nda/bill13.htm

The original announcement for the meetings stated that Wed. Oct.11th was
the cut-off date for those wishing to present either in person or in
writing; however, the chairperson stated that because of the short notice
and amount of interest, more days would be scheduled. If you would like to
speak, or send a written message to the Committee, contact the clerk.

Also, tonight I received the following e-mail from an NDA club member. It
seems that the government is getting the word that divers are not happy.

>From: Anthony DeBoer
>To: Barb & Ian Marshall ,

>Remember Bill 160, that mega-controversial 1997 education bill that had
>all the teachers and suchforth up in arms, and for a long time served as
>a benchmark for provincial controversy?

>Well, I've been told by my local MPP that it's now the bill that
>generated the second-largest number of messages ever to descend on
>Queen's Park. The biggest pile is now the Bill 13 heap.

>I don't _think_ he was exaggerating just to impress me, but he does say
>he's been told far more about diving and shipwrecks than he'd ever
>expected to find out. He adds that he's impressed to see that some of it
>is coming from all over North America, too.

I'll post more information as I receive it. Ian
