The Channon's nameboard is in the collection of the Wisconsin Marine Historical Society in the Milwaukee Public Library. You can arrange to view it by emailing them at wmhs@execpc.com.

: I am researching the schooner Grace A. Channon (sometimes called the "Gracie Shannon") that went down August 3, 1877 between Milwaukee and Racine. I have a Milwaukee newspaper article from August 1985, that tells of the dicovery of the shipwreck by Kent Bellrichard. The name board was recovered and the article quotes that the item would be given to a museum.Does anyone have an idea where it might be. A good friend is the g-granddaughter of Henry Channon, who was the owner of the schooner. She has a large oil painting of the ship and would love to be able to see the name board. BBright
