: If anyone has any info on ghost ships of the Great Lakes, and particularly of Lake Michigan, I would love to hear about them. Please e-mail me at ben_winters@hotmail.com if you know of any good ghost tales or can direct me to find some.

: Thanks!

There are several "flying dutchmen" of the lakes. The first is in Lake Michigan and just happens to be the first sailing ship to sail the lakes. The sailing ship "Griffon" was lost with all hands on Lake Michigan. Her phantom has been reported in the Green Bay area.

Then there is the "Bannockburn", she dissapeared with all hands in a storm on Lake Superior. The wreck has never been found and her ghost has been seen still downbound to the Soo in a snow storm.

For more info on Lakes ghost stories look for the books, Haunted Lakes and Haunted Lakes II both by Fredrick Stonehouse.
