: To make it perfectly clear, I am not a diver, but someone with a love of the lake
: and the history surrounding it. I'm also an avid kayaker and a long time summer
: resident of Door County Wisconsin. I've always known that there are numerous
: wrecks off of Deaths Door, Pilot Island etc., but as I've kayaked around the peninsula
: its dawned on me that a few, if not many wrecks would be visible from the surface of the
: lake. (The wreck of the Louisiana for example lies in waters 10-25 ft deep)

: This concept intrests me very much! Would anyone be able to point me to a diver's
: resource for Door County that lists most, if not all, of the Door County wrecks and their
: locations, GPS or otherwise? Any books or publications with reliable location info?
: Obviously wrecks that are greater than 30-50 feet will be of little value to me since
: you can barely see down that far on a good day in Lake Michigan. But the idea of paddling
: out to a wreck site, knowing the history behind the wreck, and being at that place is
: something magical - if your a diver or not! So any publications would be helpfull. The more
: wrecks the better! (Also, any unusual Door County wrecks of airplanes etc are also welcome)

: Thanks
: Brett
Check out the book "Explore Great Lakes Shipwrecks" by Kimm Stabelfeldt, vol. 2. You will find it listed in the bookstore on this very website.
