I believe another of your relatives contacted me in this regard. If I'm not mistaken, you are related to Alice Bettridge, the steward who wrote the note. I will point you to the same info. that I pointed her to. The best published source for the information you seek is Dan Lenihans "Shipwrecks of Isle Royale National Park." It is still in print and is widely available. You can buy a copy online at my online bookstore at:

The book details the information you seek and gives particular emphasis to the Bettridge story. The wreck was located in 1977 and is now a major dive attraction for technical wreckdivers.

: I would like to know more about the kamloops that sank in lake Superior in 1927. My wife's great Aunt was one if the 2 females on that ship the day it sank in a winter storm. My understand is that she was the only one who survived by swimming to Island Royal were she wrote a letter then froze to death.
