It seems this summer has been plagued with tragedies. I have had the bad luck of being present during (2) of these fatalities. It has left me with a great respect for the rescue personnel who have the grisley task of recovery. A friend of mine, Gary Biniecki, had the unpleasant task of the recovery of the divers at the Regina shipwreck a few weeks ago. ( Gary is a member of the Sanilac County Sherriff's Department.)

Last weekend, I was talking to Gary about the tragedy. Of course, we both have our opinions as to the reasons for the accident. He happened to mention that he had left some line reels in the wreck, so they could take investigation pictures. He said that when they went back to take pictures, a couple of days later, that the reels were gone. SOMEBODY HAD TAKEN THEM.

I am taking it on myself to ask, that if anybody knows where these reels are, to please return them, to either the dive shop in Pt. Sanilac or the Sanilac County Sherriff's Department in Sandusky, Mi.

Folks, I have known the dive community in this area for almost 10 years, and if you ever needed a favor, they have always been willing to help. The Sanilac County Sherriff's Department will greatly appreciate the return of these items. Divers, you never know when they may need these items to HELP YOU!!!
