For what its worth, just my opinion.

This artifact is not a typical "piece of junk from the bottom" rather this is a tribute or
memorial to and for the survivors. What comfort, of reverence can one get from looking
at a crusty nasty looking thing. As a former lake and ocean sailor, I can assure you that the
ships bell is often referred to as the heart of a ship, and on every ship I ever sailed on, at
least every once in a while a few cans of Brasso were used to make it shine, and I bet the
Fitzs' bell got a shining from time to time also when it was still afloat.

Incidentally, years ago when artifact collecting was the norm, my first bronze porthole I
pulled was buffed, rather severely in fact and clear coated. Still shines like brand new !

Quit whining fella, at least here. We are a happy bunch.
