My wife's family immigrated from Germany to Michigan in 1856. Her great great grandfather states that the ship went down and they lost all their belongings barely escaping with their lives. Does any one know of a wreck (maybe in the Great Lakes) that went down with a group passengers coming from Germany in the summer of 1856? Bill
