A number of map libraries exist such as the one at MacMAster University. They have maps and charts that date back to the 1800's and if you want to do a good job that is where you need to go.

: Hi there....i'm hoping that somebody could point me in the direction of a list (or map) showing historic Canadian ports in the GL. I have easily found a list of the major ports that are used today, but am having trouble finding ports of yesterday. I'm a cartography student producing a large poster-map showing shipwrecks in the GL and would like to include Historic Ports on the map itself. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated!
