I was searching the net for information on Harold Lund... I have a painting signed Harold Lund and very little information about the artist. The reason I thought this might be of interest to you is, the picture is of a boat (two acually) in a harbor. Could this be the "Verna Jane" of which you speak? : My Grandfather (James Holditch) tells me of a ship he worked on called the "Verna Jane". The ship sank back in the 70's and took all three of the crewmen with her. I believe the ship sank off the eastern shore of Michipicoten Island after running into a shoal or another small island. I am looking to research the wreck and learn anything I can of the ship and the fate of her crew. Is there anyone out there who knew the "Verna Jane" or her crew (Capt. Richard Agawa (?), a young fellow, last name Lund (grandson of the ship's owner Harold Lund). I believe the ship operated in and around Batchewana Bay, Otterhead, and Marathon, Ontario. Any and all replies with info would be greatly appreciated.
