Greetings and hello this April 26th, 2000. Just want to pass on my exciting news. I have my Ontario Provincial Archeological Licence and will be on my own on Lake Ontario with my brand new sidescan sonar, boat and 2,500 feet of sidescan sonar cable.
I'm also thriled to say I'm going for three weeks back to London, England to entrench myself
in the Public Records Office (PRO) Archives downtown and at Kew Gardns. I have an amazing shopping list
of journals, diaries, logbook searches etc being prepared. So this year looks like it's going to be an incredible year
of gains intellectually and hopefully with a found HMS ONTARIO as I am doing this full-time all summer minus the 3 weeks in London,
England (with a side trip of course to the Mary Rose and HMS Victory at Portsmouth. Also taking in a couple of other maritime museums
while I'm there and other places (Universities) to do further research in great depth. I'm buying my fiance's and my wedding ring here in
Portsmouth, England. Christian Vandermaas
