: : What words of wisdom would all you experienced wreck divers give to someone new to the sport? Remember back to your first few GL wreck dives and please tell me what you wish someone had told you back then.

Hi Bruce...

A few things that come to mind:

1- Always seek the advice of those who came before you (and continue to dive). You'll utimately learn more and develop skills beyond that which is taught in wreck specialty courses.

2- Dive within your own personal limitations and do not hesitate to sit one out if you are uncomfortable or conditions aren't right (basic dive class stuff).

3- Do your own thinking - regard wreck rumors or wreck location info with a degree of suspicion unless the source is a reliable one. Not everyone is honest.

4- And this is a biggie...Practice conservation and encourage others to do so. Leave whatever you find right where you found it. A shipwreck is not a renewable resource.

Best Regards and Good Diving,
