: Thank you to all who helped me with the ship NORONIC, I not only learned a lot but was also able to obtain the book, "The Noronic is Burning", published in 1976, by John Craig. I am now trying to find new information on a different vessel. Unfortunately, this new one was not a Great Lakes Steamer, but rather a freighter torpedoed and sunk in 1942. If any of you can assist me in discovering anything about her history it would be greatly appreciated. I was recently given four photographs of four unknown ladies posing with two members of the ship's crew. One of the members was obviously the captain and the other I believe may be the first officer. The name of the ship is "S.S. Steel Scientist". Any help would be appreciated and again many thanks! P.S. Due to CPU problems, my database of over 8,000 vessels will not be available to you via the net for a little while longer. But I am trying to make available to all interested soon. Thanks!
