There is no standardized rule for this. It is mostly a function of how you tolerate the cold (your physical condition, body fat, body size, etc.) I know a number of divers who did the Kamloops at Isle Royale (180 ft., 36 - 44 degree water, 30 - 40 min hang time) in wetsuits. I think that's pretty crazy, but people used to do it. I personally prefer to use a dry suit for any Great Lakes wreckdive because it's simply more comfortable and more fun. If you dive wet for a while, you'll find out what depth/temp/hang time gets you too cold. So, the max depth for a wet dive is a function of water temp, hang time and your personal tolerance of cold.
