This is the info that I have. Hope it is not to late, but if not it may help you.

The Empress of Ireland was laid down on April 10, 1905. At Fairfield, shipbuilding and engineering in Glasgow Scotland. A kiel it is the long piece on the bottom where the two side of the ship connect. She was christened on January 27, 1906. She was always on the liverpool canada run for her entire life. She was sunk by the Norwegian collier Stortad on may 19 1914. She also had something to do with cp rail and liners corp. You may want to look at this.
