I made my dive in 1983, and did not think much of it, I'm primarily interested in "woody-schooners", and anything else, gets a passing note and a location. steve

A few notes
I don't know if they were "mine-sweepers", but I got your Tip.
The location is: 464741-912368 to 130 ft. depth.
I'm using a electronic shore marker= 464696-912367 as my pointer 9 degrees NE deviation.

Have a good dive.

and.... The fisherman is pissed off, its been twice, his nets got screwed there, asked my help. Oh....Hell...., That was good news to me. "As they crossed the lake, strong winds, nowere to hide." Grandfather seen the sinking.
I do not believe we are talking about the wreck near Hesper, but it's 90 feet deep.

The problem is, the other location given above is a nuisance to fisherman. But the other "mine-sweepwer" is 49 miles away. (it could had been a strong wind). Dont't ask me how. I'm just a diver-researcher, that just cataloqued 7000 wrecks, and the 2nd mine sweepwer, appears to be a good dive also, at GPS- 4810.017-8834.380. It lays in 160 ft and intact. My survey also shown indian canoe in the vicinity, but I think is is unrelated.

More TAIL'S can be obtained from Milford Johnson, at his home, across from the wreck, looking with Stainer-2000-Comander bynoculars at about 240 degrees heading. Vis at 60 to 70 feet.

The area is extremely foggy, a wet fog.

I would consider these dives, as exploratory, and penetration dives specially, for you divers going there. Please do NOT remove anything whatsoever. Photography only.

One more tid-bit: I hope we are not refering about the "sub-warf" West of Brimley. There are 3 mooring there located in 60 feet depth water, spaced many hundreds of yards appart, likely to insure a secure - undetected sub mooring, due to slight current in the area. The water is crystal clear to some 40 feet, them West ward gets worst, were it goes to past 200 feet depth. I dropped the Zodiac in the water just West of the campsite. This is also where, one certain Charter Captain had an accident, his charter boat rolled over and sunk, leaving the divers in the water to swim to shore. HIs compressor, gear, pump, etc., was bolted to the roof, made it top heavy. Since the location was locked into the computer, in the middle of the bay, and it did sink, Sorry, no location coordinates available. Besides, we have to relocate our own gear.

Dive tip:
One other strange wreck of no importance is the WENONA, shallow, you might be able to see it from the surface at high noon.
Located at 8970-319331-465636, and for reference, it is therefore just located a "shot" distance from the Maplehurst.
Electronic Nav. notice: Sitex EZ-97, with 25 foot location accuracy. steve
