I don't mean to jump on the paranoia band wagon, but for those of us in the US that think this can't happen here, take a look at the "Federal Marine Sanctuary" around the USS Monitor. NOAA grants about 1 archreology permit per year and if your not part of that team, the wreck is off limits. Then keep in mind, that the same government body is trying to put a "Federal Marine Sanctuary" around the Thunder Bay Preserve in Lake Huron.
