: : : I RECENTLY SAW A PROGRAM ON THE HISTORY CHANNEL ABOUT THE EDMOND FITZGERALD. MY HEART GOES OUT TO THOSE FAMILIES WHO LOST LOVED ONES ON THAT HORRIBLE NIGHT. SUCH A GREAT LOSS. I LIKE TO LISTEN TO AND SING LOT OF FOLK TYPE MUSIC. DURING THE SHOW A SONG WAS PLAYED AND IT WAS ABOUT THE ED FITZ ACCIDENT. I WOULD REALLY LIKE TO GET A COPY OF THAT SONG. I LOOKED AT THE CREDITS AFTER THE SHOW AND ALL I SAW WAS THAT THE SONG WAS PUT OUT BY COMPANY CALLED "MOOSE MUSIC". THERE WAS NO SINGERS NAME OR SONG TITLE OR ANYTHING. IF ANYONE KNOWS THAT SONG AND HOW I COULD GET A COPY OF IT I WOULD BE MOST THANKFUL. I THOUGHT IF MAYBE SOMEONE HEARD ME SINGING THE SONG IT MIGHT SPARK SOME INTEREST IN SOMEONE ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED TO THE EDMOND FITZGERALD AND HELP CARRY ON THE MEMORY OF THOSE WHO DIED THAT NIGHT.

: : If the song you are talking about is the classic Gordon Lightfoot song, "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald", then all you have to do is ask at any record store or use an online service such as Amazon.com. I don't know what show you saw, but I am not familiar with other songs about the Fitz. Since you said you like folk music you should look into the music of Lee Murdock. He also has recorded the song "Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" as well as many other excellent songs about shipwrecks and sailing. You can find Murdock on the web at www.mcs.com/~jmurdock/lee/murdock.html or you can contact Joanne Murdock at 630-557-2742 or write to Artists of Note, PO Box 11, Kaneville, IL 60144
: : Another good choice for folk songs about ships, sailing and shipwrecks is Tom and Chris Kastle. You can get their recordings through Privateer Publishing, 6342 W. Belmont, Chicago, IL 60634, 312-714-0328

: THANX FOR THE INFO JIM! FOR SOME REASON I REALLY DIDN'T EXPECT ANYONE TO GIVE A REPLY. THANK YOU VERY VERY MUCH.

Umm..... Just some info, HISTORY CHANNEL had a special on the FITZGERALD, but it DID NOT include any bits of the song. The one you speak of is the one shown on DISCOVERY.
