: Hello. I am new to the board. Don't be fooled by my age though. I am 14 years old and know everything there is to know about the S.S. EDMUND FITZGERALD and I've interviewed Tom Farnquist of the GREAT LAKES SHIPWRECK HISTORICAL SOCIETY. I'm also traveling from my home in New York to Sault Ste. Marie after Detroit on the weekend of November 9th. On the 10th I'll be a the sailor's cathedral and then traveling up north for the memorial and as a gift to this message board I want to resite a poem I wrote last night:

:

:

"24 Years A Legend"
:

:

The name haunts the Great Lakes
:

everytime it is heard.
:

The name of the 8 million dollar beaut,
:

that always traveled the same route.
:

The 29 men that governed the ship were all brave and true,
:

but they never lived to see November twenty-two.
:

:

After 17 years and 40 voyages, it stayed a proud ship,
:

but frequent collisions was a major jip.
:

:

November ten, an infamous date,
:

when the ship went down minutes too late.
:

:

It is down there now,
:

broken and twisted,
:

that was right after she listed
:

:

Why it went down, no one knows
:

leave them alone! caring shows. (I know it sounds geeky but nothing else fits)
:

Let the men rest in peace,
:

for the voice of the FITZGERALD will never cease.
